Skiing holidays in Meransen in South Tyrol means skiing with beautiful views in friendly skiing areas. You and your skis can get straight to the middle of the winter holiday fun from the 4-star Bacherhof Wellness Hotel. About 500 metres from the hotel the lifts go directly up to the Gitschberg (2,500 m), with a panoramic platform affording a view of 500 surrounding peaks. The Zillertal Alps, Rieserferner, Ötztal Alps and the Dolomites all lie close by for your ski holiday.
The pistes are very sunny, with plenty of room for you to ski down without feeling crowded. The Gitschberg, too, is a real family skiing area. Not too busy, but with everything that makes skiing a great experience. Modern artificial snow-making equipment means that there is enough snow for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy themselves from the beginning of December right up until Easter.
Lifts to the Gitschberg, the South Tyrol ski paradise
Children and adults can look forward to the prospect of skiing on the Gitschberg (in Meransen) and in the Jochtal (in the neighbouring village of Vals): fun is guaranteed with 18 modern lift systems, including the new 8-seater cabin lift on the Gitschberg, 44 km of finely groomed pistes and 35 km of cross-country trails, with artificial snow-making facilities in the neighbouring ski area of Jochtal/Vals and two children’s parks or ski kindergartens (Bambino Club in Vals and the nationally-recognised Zwergele Winterwelt in Meransen).
Right next to Meransen are two small drag lifts, each with a practice slope for children and beginners. The 8-seater Bergbahn lift, about 500 metres from the Bacherhof Wellness Hotel, takes you in around 15 minutes up to the wide pistes of the Gitschberg with their clear views. The Gitschberg is thoroughly family-friendly, with the possible exception of the black Sergerwiese run.
